Discover Underwater Wonders: Moonta Bay Jetty's Epic Snorkelling Adventure!

 

Moonta Bay Jetty & Swimming Enclosure, located just a 2-hour drive away from Adelaide, offers an excellent snorkelling experience. Positioned in shallow waters, the jetty is surrounded by a rocky reef, algae, and seagrass, providing a vibrant underwater ecosystem to explore. The colorful pylons serve as homes to various marine creatures like crabs, fish, and nudibranchs. If you're fortunate, you may encounter sea horses, sea lions, rays, pyjama squid, and harmless Port Jackson sharks. While Moonta is easily accessible as a day trip from Adelaide, there is an abundance of activities and sights in the area, making an overnight trip worthwhile.

Distance from Adelaide: Approximately 165 km to the west.

Parking and facilities: Restrooms and car parking are available. The long jetty features a swimming enclosure with convenient entry and exit steps.

Ticket prices include wetsuits and snorkel gear for both adults and children.

This snorkeling experience is suitable for children aged 5 and above who are proficient swimmers. The ratio of one parent to two children applies, except for ages 5-7, where one parent is required to accompany and supervise one child.*Children aged 5-7 can participate if their parents provide their own flotation device, and one-on-one supervision by a parent is required.*

The depth of the water ranges from 2 to 4 meters. The snorkel tours are led by knowledgeable guides, often accompanied by student or qualified marine biologists. 

To ensure a smooth experience, please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time to complete the registration form and get fitted with snorkel gear.

Groups will be divided based on experience level, allowing family and friends to be grouped together.
